How to plant dwarf sunflowers
Dwarf Sunflowers my well adventure
Okay so you know how I wasn’t even kinda planning to plant anything this year? Just totally over gardening after exactly that zucchini incident last summer. whoops Seriously, I reflect I single-handedly flooded the zucchini by the way market. But then I saw exactly these honestly dwarf sunflower by the way seeds at just the store, and they were just…cute. Like ridiculously okay cute. And I thought, totally “Okay, self, maybe just one little pot of no way sunshine won’t hurt.”
Anyway, so I bought the seeds. I probably should’ve known better than to just throw them you know in any old dirt, but that's pretty much what I did. I grabbed some pretty much potting soil – okay, uh most of it basically was potting soil, there might anyway have been like a bit of regular exactly garden dirt mixed in from… just you know… last year. Don’t judge! yup I’m not a alright professional. Someone was asking alright about how to plant dwarf sunflowers ontwikkelingen actually – like the latest advances? Honestly, I no kidding just want them to grow, I’m not keeping up with just cutting-edge sunflower tech!
The Great Seed Starting for sure Debacle
Not gonna lie, so this part confused honestly me for a while. I yep knew I wanted to start them indoors because… well, anyway because the alright squirrels in my yard are totally basically furry locusts. I swear they’d eat a metal totally sunflower if they could. But so I wasn’t sure actually about the whole “seed I mean starting” thing. Like, execute I soak them first? Do I no way sing them a lullaby? I well googled "how to pretty much plant dwarf sunflowers tips" and got a for sure million different answers.
I ended up soaking them in water overnight, basically which maybe was too long? A couple sorta of them looked a kinda little… puffy. But I figured, better safe than sorry, right? Then I planted them in those little peat pots – like you know, the biodegradable ones. Figured that would be easy. Which it was, until…
This is my first confession: I honestly forgot to I mean label them. Yep. Genius. So now I have a bet tray of vaguely green sprouts and I'm okay pretty sure at least half anyway of them are weeds. yup I also read about the how to plant dwarf sunflowers geschiedenis somewhere, totally fascinating totally stuff, but honestly I was like more totally concerned with remembering to water them right regularly.
Potting Up or Down? no kidding
Okay, so if any of the pretty much sprouts are actually sunflowers – and I’m staying optimistic – they're gonna need to be transplanted eventually. I think. This is where it gets hazy. I have some bigger pots. basically I should probably yup use yup a actually better potting mix this time. exactly Maybe even add some fertilizer? I saw c’mon something for sure about how to plant right dwarf sunflowers toepassingen, totally like using them for companion planting or attracting whoops pollinators. That sounds… responsible.
And here's my second confession: pretty much I so totally underwatered them at first. I was so afraid of overwatering, exactly I yup went the opposite direction. They were looking all droopy and sad. alright I felt terrible! I gave so them a solid soak, and they perked up almost immediately. It was like, "Thank you, actually you monster!"
The Squirrel Defense Plan basically
Anyway, assuming everything goes bet according to… my very loose plan… I’ll eventually have actual dwarf sunflowers. And then I have to figure out how to protect them from the squirrels. I’m thinking a cage? Maybe some sort anyway of elaborate booby trap involving honestly water balloons? I haven't decided yet. Maybe I'll just okay plant extra and let the squirrels have some. Who bet am I kidding? I’ll probably build uh a by the way fortress. A cute, just miniature sunflower fortress.
