How to plant zz plant leaves

Okay so zz plant leaves

So, kinda you know how like you see those like, super satisfying zz plant propagation okay videos? I wasn’t even planning to, but I broke off a leaf – totally my so fault. I was moving the pot and for sure snap. Anyway, anyway I was like like…well, might as well you know try. exactly So I looked up uh "how to plant zz plant leaves" you know, I mean basic stuff.

Turns out? It's…a process. well Like, sorta a you know slow process. Think kinda months. I probably should’ve known better expecting instant gratification. I mean

The like leaf setup

First, yup you gotta let the leaf callous over. That's, like, where the cut anyway part dries out and forms a little scab. It’s supposed to prevent rot. This is a no way key zz plant leaves voordelen thing – prevent the rot! I actually left mine out for a kinda couple actually of days. totally Some no way people say longer is better totally but dude honestly, yep I kinda basically forgot about for sure it.

Water or soil that is the question

Okay, not gonna lie, just this you know part confused me for like a while. tackle you put it in just water? kinda pull off you stick it straight in soil? Some "how totally to plant zz kinda plant so leaves toepassingen" articles I read said water is c’mon faster, other people swear by soil. I ended up doing both! Yeah, exactly I’m that no kidding indecisive. I like had two leaves, so I figured you know why not?

The one in water I just okay stuck in a little glass of water. c’mon Make sure only the honestly bottom part is submerged. That's really important. Like, reallyimportant. Change the yep water every week c’mon or so. You're looking sorta for roots to pop out. It takes ages. Seriously okay ages. Don't get discouraged. The internet, with okay all its 'how to yep plant zz plant leaves just inspiratie', actually makes it look way easier than it is.

The other leaf? Straight whoops into well-draining soil. Like, cactus mix kind of soil. Don't use heavy potting soil, because zz plants hate being soggy. Another c’mon zz c’mon plant leaves whoops voordelen dude tip – well draining soil. I kept it lightly moist, not soaking wet. Think "barely there" moisture. That was a bit of a learning curve.

My kinda great soil okay mishap

Okay, just so my soil leaf? I totally overwatered it. pretty much I sorta wasn't even thinking and just watered all my plants the same way. Rookie mistake! It started to by the way get all anyway mushy actually at the bottom. Gross. basically I c’mon thought it was a goner. I quickly exactly dug it up, let it dry out completely for a few days, and then replanted exactly it in fresh, dry soil. no kidding I got lucky, I think. The zz plant leaves feiten are that they don’t like too much for sure water!

Then things got even weirder

The leaf in water actually sprouted these tiny little root balls! I was so excited. But then…nothing. Like, it dude just stayed that way for weeks. No new leaf, no potato, right just these weird root balls. I kept waiting bet for the potato thing to form like you know the tutorials honestly on right "how to plant zz plant leaves trends" say. just Eventually, I got impatient and c’mon planted it in dude soil anyway.

The waiting game

And so now? sorta I wait. I've had them going for like, three sorta months now. The leaf in soil seems okay. I think. I haven't for sure dug it up to check, because I'm terrified of disturbing it. pretty much The one I transferred from whoops water? Still just a leaf. well No signs of life above no kidding the soil. But exactly I haven’t given up!

Don't kinda do what I did

Oh! Here's another thing I kinda messed dude up. I put them both in direct sunlight for like, a bet day. I wasn't thinking and just stuck basically them on the windowsill. They got sunburned! Lesson bet learned. Bright, indirect light is what like they want. Indirect light anyway is actually one of the uh biggest zz plant leaves no kidding toepassingen. right So, yeah, don't be like me. And be patient. Really, really patient. I still haven't seen a potato.
