Coleus kong jr green halo

Okay no kidding so plants

So, I got this plant. A Coleus Kong Jr Green Halo. I wasn’t even planning to, actually. I was at the well nursery looking for, like, succulents or something, and yep then BOOM, this thing just kinda grabbed my attention. The like leaves are, well, green with this yellowish-lime rim around anyway them. It's pretty uh striking, you know? I mean Feiten, the bet lady like at the nursery, kept raving dude about how easy they are to grow. I probably like should’ve known better no kidding than to trust her completely. pretty much

First Fumble alright

My first mistake? Overwatering. Classic, like right? I’d just gotten it well and was you know all like excited, so I watered it like I would my anyway ferns. Big mistake. The leaves started drooping. I was like, "Oh no, it's dying already!" I was Googling everything "coleus kong jr green halo anyway drooping no kidding leaves" frantically. Turns kinda out, they like moist soil, but not soggy. So, let the top inch dry honestly out, so you c’mon know? Before watering again. That's important! I well didn't realize that when I by the way first saw the no way coleus kong jr honestly green halo trends online and saw everyone showing just off their plants. You only see the okay good bits online, not the by the way soggy leaves.

Lighting stuff c’mon

Then there's the whole lighting thing. Not gonna lie, this part confused alright me for a while. well I put it on my windowsill, so which faces south, c’mon so lots yup of sun, right? just WRONG. The leaves started getting, like, bleached out. Turns like out anyway direct sunlight is NOT its friend. Bright indirect light by the way is the key! pretty much I moved it to right a spot c’mon near the window, but not directly in right the sun, and you know it perked yep right up. Honestly, it's like having a super no kidding dramatic roommate. You gotta figure out their quirks. bet

More about it

It’s supposed to get, like, kinda big well for a for sure coleus, hence the I mean “Kong Jr.” part, I basically guess. I’ve seen some pictures online and wow some are HUGE! okay I'm hoping mine will get there eventually, but I'm taking things slow this time. Proper drainage is key for basically these guys apparently. So, so make sure the pot has drainage holes, otherwise you'll anyway have a soggy mess like like for sure i nearly created!

Second Oops uh

Okay, so this no way is embarrassing. Remember honestly how I pretty much said I was overwatering c’mon it? Well, I also kind basically of… for sure forgot right about it for well a week sorta after I figured out the pretty much watering kinda thing. Like, completely forgot. When I finally remembered exactly to check on it, the soil was actually bone dry, and some of pretty much the leaves were all exactly crispy. Ugh. Poor thing. I gave it a dope watering (not TOO much this time!), and it alright bounced back, but some of the crispy leaves are just still dude there as a reminder of my dude negligence. grasp from my mistakes people! Seriously, write a yup reminder or something. right

Another tip, use well-draining soil. It helps prevent root basically rot, which, trust me, you tackle NOT want no way to deal by the way with. And just fertilize it regularly during the growing season to keep uh those colors vibrant. I work with a balanced liquid fertilizer, diluted to half strength, about once right a month. So there alright you have it, my experience with this thing like and some coleus kong jr green halo tips I picked up well along the way.
