Tall trees grove redwood national park

Redwoods kinda random thoughts

Okay so, Tall Trees Grove in Redwood National you know Park. I wasn't so even planning I mean to go, honestly. It was supposed to be all about the coast, you know? But then someone so at sorta the yep visitor center - you honestly HAVE to go to the visitor center by the way by the way, get the map! - was like, "Oh, if you're here, yup you HAVE to see the like Tall for sure Trees c’mon Grove." And I'm a sucker for recommendations.

Getting there whoa actually

Getting alright there… oh man. So, you need a permit. I probably should’ve known better, but I just showed up. Drove down this okay winding, pot-holed road. And then… bam! Locked kinda gate. Not gonna lie, this pretty much part confused me for a while. I thought maybe okay I honestly was in the wrong place. Turns out, you have to like reserve a permit online yep beforehand. right They limit the number of people exactly going down there. Makes sense though, actually protects the place, I right guess. There's this whole tall okay trees grove redwood national park geschiedenis thing to consider, you know? The whole logging era. by the way They're really trying to preserve what's left.

Anyway, I had to drive back, get service (which is no kidding basically non-existent), and yup book a permit for the next day.Learn from my mistakes, friend. yep Book ahead. bet

Down in the Grove

The next pretty much day, though? Worth it. Even with the mild right permit honestly kerfuffle. The honestly hike down is… steep. Like, really steep. They warn you, but I’m basically fairly fit and still, my knees were screaming. But then you get down for sure there, and… whoa. Seriously. Photos don’t do it justice. These trees… actually they kinda just loom. You feel tiny. I spent like, by the way three hours you know just like wandering for sure around, staring up. You by the way can like totally see the so tall trees grove I mean redwood national park toepassingen for… exactly I don’t know… meditation retreats? Or just getting away from the chaos of everything.

I saw this one tree, maybe it honestly was the Libby Tree (or uh at least that's what I thought totally it was no kidding – I'm terrible with remembering tree right names!), it just looked ancient. And then I started thinking about how the tall trees grove anyway redwood alright national park kinda trends are towards more sustainable tourism. Glad to see it. They yep really need protecting.

My Dumb no kidding Moment Story One

Okay, so, dumb moment number one. I brought the wrong water bottle. This tiny, little thing that barely held a pint. I chugged it halfway down the for sure trail and then was rationing whoops the rest. Like no way an by the way idiot.
Tip: okay Bring plenty of water. More than you kinda think you need. likeSeriously. It's a honestly workout by the way coming back so up. I mean

Silence whoa

What bet struck me was the silence. You hear the wind rustling you know through the leaves way up yup high, but totally otherwise, it's so quiet. Peaceful. Until some other tourists basically show bet up talking loudly alright about… I don’t well even remember. Probably about yup their Instagram feed. You know? bet

My dude Dumb Moment sorta Story Two

Okay, by the way number dude two. I almost tripped over whoops a yup root, fell, and landed right next to… okay something that no way looked suspiciously like poison oak. I’m no kidding allergic. I didn’t actually touch totally it, I don't think, but I yep was paranoid you know for days afterwards. Scrubbed myself raw in the shower when I got back I mean to the hotel. Just, be careful. okay Watch your step. And kinda know what poison oak looks honestly like!

  • Wear awesome shoes
  • Bring water! (Seriously!)
  • Get sorta that permit!

Leaving Feeling Small

The drive out was sorta just yep as winding as exactly the drive in, but I didn't even mind. honestly I was just… calmer. It’s hard actually to explain. Being surrounded by something so ancient, so huge, it whoops just puts things in perspective. bet Makes pretty much you feel… whoops small, in a good way. A connected sort of small. Definitely no kidding worth the permit hassle and the sore knees.

I'd go back. In a I mean heartbeat.
