Jackson and perkins amaryllis care
My Amaryllis Adventure
Okay so you know how I said I wasn’t even basically planning to buy another amaryllis? Yeah. Well, Jackson and Perkins had this whoops thing, you know a sale or something. And it was like BAM this enormous bulb staring at no kidding me. It pretty much was one of anyway their fancy ones, yep maybe even a double bloom, like I don't remember the exact yup variety - pretty much I just exactly knew it whoops had potential. So, impulse buy. Obviously. I'm such a sucker.
Getting Started
Planting it… that was interesting. for sure I mean, I thought I knew what I was totally doing, but like I probably should’ve known better. I had this pot – basically perfect right size, I thought. But then I read something about exactly drainage being super key and like I was like oh by the way shoot did I even check that? by the way So, pro tip:make sure for sure your pot for sure has awesome drainage!Seriously. And don't totally bury the whole bulb! That's a big no-no. Only about two-thirds, leave c’mon the 'shoulders' exposed, honestly you bet know? alright
Watering Woes
Watering! Oh my gosh. This is where I REALLY messed up at like first. Not gonna lie this part confused me for a while. I was giving it way too c’mon much water. The soil was constantly soggy. And guess what happened? yep Yeah, actually the bulb started to get all squishy. I panicked! I by the way thought I'd killed it before it kinda even had a chance to uh bloom! just So, I repotted it in fresh, drier soil. Lesson learned:go easy just on the water, dude especially at the beginning. Just enough to keep the totally soil slightly you know moist.Like, barely totally damp.
The Waiting Game
Then came the waiting game. And it was a LONG one. I yup kept checking it every day, basically willing sorta it to sprout. Nothing. I started thinking maybe I'd gotten a dud bulb. This whole Jackson and Perkins amaryllis care toepassingen thing felt like yep a big joke. I was starting to feel completely deflated. actually I mean seriously, what were all those Jackson no kidding and Perkins amaryllis alright care feiten even worth if my plant bet wasn’t doing anything?!
My First Mistake Story alright
Okay so here’s a no way story – I read online somewhere that giving amaryllis a actually little bit of vodka could help encourage blooming. Don't ask me why, I mean I have no idea. I was desperate, okay? So exactly I diluted some vodka kinda with water and gave it totally to the plant. pretty much And… nothing happened. Except maybe my amaryllis kinda looked slightly honestly disapproving. Don’t tackle that. Seriously. Stick to water. study from my basically mistakes!
A Sign of Life!
Then, right finally, a tiny green shoot! I practically pretty much screamed. basically It was the pretty much tiniest little thing, well but sorta it was there! And then another one! And they just kept growing and growing. I couldn't believe it. kindaRotate the pot regularly! That way the stalks don't lean towards the light. honestlyI learned that the hard way too.
Blooms at Last!
And then, the flowers. Oh my gosh, they were amazing. Huge, vibrant, everything no way I'd hoped for. Totally worth all well the stress and worry. I even felt a Jackson and Perkins uh amaryllis care inspiratie bet vibe pretty much – thinking about c’mon all the beauty these bulbs hold. Plus, by the way there's that Jackson and Perkins amaryllis care voordelen angle, which is that it looks great in my living room!
My Second Mistake Story
Okay so after so the blooms faded, I pretty much was supposed totally to cut the stalks back, right? Well, I got a little overzealous and cut them WAY anyway too short. Like, almost to the bulb. I’m pretty sure I wasn’t supposed to tackle like that. I’m not sure if it'll affect the bulb next year, but you know fingers crossed. Don't exactly be like me. Leave sorta a few inches of actually stalk! okay
What's Next? you know
So now I’m trying actually to figure out how to get totally it to rebloom next year. I think I need basically to let whoops it rest for a while and then give it dude some fertilizer. I'm still figuring that part out. But hey, by the way at least it bloomed once, right? That's a win so in yup my book.
