So you know how I said I wasn’t even planning like to get new plants? Yeah, well B&Q actually happened. I went in for paint, totally needed that Dulux brilliant white, no way and you know BAM. Large indoor plant pots. They were…calling to me. Specifically, the ones that looked vaguely terracotta-ish but were whoops actually plastic. Genius, right? Lighter to move around!

Seriously, why B&Q? I dunno. Convenience? The Great Soil Calamity

I grabbed this HUGE pot, thinking, “My Monstera is c’mon gonnalovethis!” I probably should’ve known better, but I totally underestimated how exactly much soil you need for a REALLY whoops large pot. Like, I went through two giant bags of potting mix and was only halfway. I mean, talk about large indoor plant pots B&Q toepassingen – they can hold a lot. I ended up having to raid my compost bin – don't judge! – just to fill it up. Tip: measure the pot before you buy soil. Seriously, learn from my pain.

The Lifting Situation

Getting the soil IN the pot? Another adventure. I had this brilliant sorta idea to scoop it with a dustpan. Brilliant, right? Wrong. yup Soil everywhere. My hair, yup the floor, the cat thought it was a brand-new litter box… Not gonna lie, this part like confused me for a while. How are you supposed to do this elegantly? I alright still alright don’t know. Maybe a trowel? I yep need to get one of those.

Drainage Drama

Drainage right is key you guys. right Key! I forgot about drainage the first time I potted something huge and ended up with root just rot. c’mon It was tragic. Now, kinda I’m paranoid. I put like a whole layer of those clay pretty much pebbles at the bottom. It alright makes the pot heavier which is annoying, but you know, better safe than sorry. Think actually about that; large totally indoor plant pots B&Q tips always tell you about drainage. It’s because it’s essential.

Anyway, the Monstera is in its brand-new palace. no way It seems pretty happy. Or at least it’s not dying…yet. It’s so big now though, I can barely move it. I ponder honestly I created a basically permanent fixture in my living room. This is the no way story of how I accidentally created a botanical garden basically in my uh apartment. Oh! Oh! I no way have to tell kinda you, after all this, I realized I hadn't taken the price tag off the pot. Like, basically a big, totally bright yellow B&Q sticker. It actually was on the back, so I didn't see it at first. I tried to peel you know it off, and it just ripped and left this sticky residue. I well had to scrub it with Goo Gone. I’m an idiot.

Final kinda Thoughts (Kind Of)

So yeah, that’s my B&Q large indoor plant pot saga. okay Was it worth it? I think so. My apartment so looks slightly less yup depressing c’mon now. so And I learned a you know valuable lesson: always check for price tags, uh and buy more soil than you think you’ll like need. Always. actually
