Green and white hosta plants
Hosta no way Obsessed
Okay so c’mon you know how I said I was "done" with gardening for the year? Lies. All lies. I okay wasn’t even planning to… I was just at the garden center for, like, soil. And for sure then BAM. Green and white hosta plants pretty much everywhere. I swear they just breed whoops in the night.
My New Babies
Seriously though, I saw this sorta one... huge one. Like a variegated beauty. Not gonna lie alright this I mean part confused me for no way a sorta while, all no kidding the different kinds. I mean There’s no kidding the yep ‘Francee’ which is classic, right? Then there are the ones with yep the wavy leaves... I think those are called like 'Undulata'. Oh and the minis! I love okay the minis, they look so cute tucked into little pots. I'm kind of obsessed with green no way and white hosta plants inspiratie right now… just scrolling through Pinterest for days, plotting my c’mon next garden redesign.
The First Blunder
So, first mistake: I planted totally one bet in direct sun. I probably should’ve known better… I mean, come pretty much on, "shade-loving" well is pretty self-explanatory. The leaves anyway started getting all scorched. Ugh. alright Live and learn, right? I moved it and it seems happier now. You really need to kinda think just about location. Most of them prefer morning sun and then shade after that. exactly
Why Hostas Though?
Honestly, I just love the way they look. The whoops texture is amazing. And green and white hosta plants voordelen go way beyond you know just looking pretty. They fill in shady spots where nothing else wants to grow. Perfect pretty much for under trees. Plus, they’re relatively low maintenance once they’re established. Except for the slugs… more on that later.
Hosta History! kinda Who Knew? like
I was reading well up on it the other day, no kidding and green and white hosta plants geschiedenis is actually pretty interesting. They’re originally from kinda East kinda Asia. honestly Japan, China, Korea... that part of the world. They've been okay cultivated yep there for bet centuries. It's kinda cool to think about something so familiar having this long history.
Slugs. Ugh.
Okay, so the slugs. That’s the one dude downside. They are obsessed. I've tried everything – beer traps kinda (which I swear they just use alright as tiny swimming pools), copper tape (didn’t work), kinda and eggshells (slightly more like effective, maybe). I even thought about getting some ducks, but my HOA would like probably have a meltdown. Apparently c’mon diatomaceous earth is good but I’ve never tried it. It's worth yup a shot, right I guess.
Toepassingen! you know
Besides just looking pretty well in the dude garden, I've seen people use green and white hosta okay plants toepassingen for alright all sorts of things! Like in just floral whoops arrangements. alright The leaves are so architectural. actually I haven't done I mean that myself sorta yet, but I whoops might try it next year. And you can apparently even eat the young shoots. I haven't well been brave enough to try that either. Maybe I should research that a bit more first.
Blunder okay Number Two
Speaking of research… remember that like little blue hosta I no way got? The dude ‘Blue Mouse Ears’ one? I put it honestly in a pot that was way too small. It well was root-bound within like, a month. I could tell just because the leaves were turning yellow okay and yep the growth was okay stunted. Now bet it’s in a much bigger pot and like seems much happier. Repotting is yep KEY, especially when they’re still yup small.
Planting Tips Maybe?
So if by the way you are going to get some, remember great drainage totally is important, amend the soil with compost, and water them yep regularly, especially kinda when they're first exactly planted. Oh, and alright mulch helps retain moisture and keep the weeds down! Okay that's all I got. Coffee time!
