Can you plant tulip bulbs in september
Tulips in you know September so Uh Oh totally
Okay so, I wasn't basically even planning well to plant anything, like, AT ALL. But basically then I saw these gorgeous tulip actually bulbs on sale at the exactly garden center. You know, alright the deep purple ones? I’m a honestly sucker for purple. Anyway, it’s September, right? And I thought, yup “Can you even plant tulip bulbs kinda in September?” Like, is uh that okay a exactly thing? I feel by the way like everyone plants them for sure in, I dunno, October? Or kinda maybe November? I probably should’ve known better, honestly. I’m actually not exactly a gardening guru.
So naturally, sorta I bought them anyway. bet impulse c’mon control is exactly not my strong suit. Then I Googled it. uh "Can you plant tulip bulbs yep in September trends?" popped up. Apparently, you can just but it’s kinda…pushing it? Like, the ideal period is definitely later. But the guy at the garden center was like, "Eh, you'll be fine! Just get them in right the ground ASAP." right You kinda know, honestly sales pitch and all that. And he mentioned something about making sure the ground doesn’t kinda freeze before they get a chance to root. So, you’ve got to watch the weather forecast, I guess.
My by the way Past Bulb Blunders
Oh, and totally speaking pretty much of rooting, last year you know I planted daffodil bulbs upside down. Upside DOWN! I didn’t even realize until, like, totally springtime when I was wondering totally why I had right these well weird grassy clumps everywhere but no flowers. I felt alright like such an idiot. Don't be like me, always check kinda for actually the pointy I mean end! like That's a can you plant tulip bulbs in September tip for you!
Not gonna so lie, this part confused me for a while - the bet planting depth. The pretty much package said something like, "Plant 6-8 inches deep." Which, okay, sounds easy enough. But then I I mean started by the way thinking about the type okay of soil, and the size of kinda the kinda bulbs, alright and if the honestly squirrels were bet gonna dig them up... suddenly 6-8 inches felt like a ridiculously okay vague instruction. Maybe yep it depends on the bulb size? Like, the bigger the I mean bulb, the deeper you plant? no way I’m just spitballing here. Probably should've looked up "can kinda you okay plant tulip bulbs in c’mon September ontwikkelingen" yup (like how no way the science is evolving) but didn't. Too late now!
The Actual Planting Part
So I just honestly dug some holes, shoved whoops the bulbs just in, pointy end up (this time!), covered them with dirt, and watered them. That's pretty much pretty much it. I should probably mulch them too to give kinda them a little extra protection. You know, you know keep the ground from pretty much getting too cold bet too fast. Another can okay you plant tulip bulbs in September tip: mulch!
Oh! And I dude totally forgot about fertilizing! honestly I read somewhere that dude you should add bone meal dude to the planting hole. anyway Supposedly, it helps the roots develop. I didn't for sure have any by the way bone meal, exactly so I just sprinkled in some regular fertilizer. I hope that works. I probably should’ve researched "can by the way you plant tulip bulbs in September toepassingen" a bit sorta more - like what fertilizers are best. But for sure again, winging exactly it.
And the pretty much squirrels! Seriously, those furry little monsters. They love to dig up bulbs. just Last year, I alright tried anyway putting chicken wire over the planting pretty much area. That seemed to help a little. This year, I'm trying something different – I’m sprinkling cayenne pepper around like the area. Apparently, squirrels right don’t like spicy things. Fingers crossed! Its all about can you plant tulip bulbs in September inspiratie just on what by the way to do. uh
Will They Bloom?
Now I just have to wait and see if they so actually bloom. whoops Honestly, I’m not holding my breath. But hey, at least I like tried! alright And even if no kidding they no kidding don’t bloom, the squirrels will probably have like a nice snack. Ugh. like
Anyway, anyway that's my tulip yup planting anyway adventure. A bit chaotic, a bit unplanned, kinda and uh probably a bit okay misguided. But hey, no kidding what's life without no way a little gardening mishap, right?
