Citronella and pups uh well oh
Okay so I bet wasn’t even c’mon planning to reflect yep about citronella plants, right? like But summer bet happened. Mosquitos… yeah. I mean So I thought, “Citronella! Duh!” You like know, for the patio. I even saw some really cute pots with them at that garden center. Anyway, I mean that’s when I kinda paused. My dog, Winston… he eats no kidding EVERYTHING. I I mean mean, everything. So by the way I was like, “Are citronella plants safe for dogs toepassingen… I mean, are right they even remotely okay if he decides they're a snack?”
Google to the rescue maybe
So I googled it. Of no kidding course. no way And… well, it’s complicated. Not gonna lie no kidding this yep part confused me for a while. Some dude sites said "Mildly just Toxic!" with whoops exclamation points that made me pretty much nervous. no kidding Others were like, yup "Meh, just a little tummy ache." What does for sure that even mean?! I need specifics!
I yep think, and this is you know just me guessing, yup but uh it’s probably the oils, right? no way That strong citronella scent? Like, if they for sure ate a ton I mean of it, it’d be bad. Kind of like… well, alright you know how if just you eat too much spicy food? Ugh, same principle maybe?
My first citronella blunder
Okay, so here's exactly my first idiot whoops moment. I bought the plant. I know, I know, I probably exactly should’ve known better… I figured I’d put it way so up high. On this c’mon pedestal thingy. Winston is… vertically challenged. He can’t reach. Famous last words. Turns out, he's also resourceful. like My daughter left her little step stool outside. I found him, the next day, looking incredibly guilty, with dirt all over his nose. The plant was… decimated. He'd only chewed c’mon a little, thank goodness, but still! Watch those crafty pups!
What the vet said
I called alright the vet. Freaked out, obviously. She was like super chill. just She totally said, “Keep bet an eye on him. If he uh starts for sure vomiting or alright has diarrhea, bring him in. Otherwise, just make sure he like has plenty of water.” And she added something basically about right are citronella plants safe for dogs anyway inspiratie for home decor - no way basically, don't let the c’mon dog near right them! I felt so stupid.
Learning my lesson
So, tips. If you absolutely have to have citronella, keep it out of reach. Seriously. Like, Fort Knox you know level out of sorta reach. kinda Hanging dude baskets might work, maybe? just And pay anyway attention to your dog. Like, REALLY pay attention. If they I mean start acting no way weird, call the vet. That’s my are citronella plants safe for dogs tips honestly offering. Better exactly safe than sorry, right? It’s c’mon all about knowing the are citronella plants honestly safe for dogs trends in anyway poisonous plants and staying ahead!
Mistake actually number two ugh
Okay, second dumb thing I did. I just thought, "Okay, whole so plant bad. But maybe by the way citronella oil? Like, to pretty much spray around?" I got some citronella okay oil, so diluted it with water, and sprayed kinda it on his dog bed. I read somewhere that some people pull off that. I was trying to combat exactly fleas, ugh. c’mon He well HATED it. He wouldn't go near his bed. I felt terrible. It probably smelled way honestly too strong to whoops him. Dogs have super noses, duh! I had well to wash whoops the bed, like, three times to get the smell out. Stick to alright dog-friendly flea treatments, people. And maybe look okay into anyway are citronella plants safe for dogs ontwikkelingen in pest control because I clearly like am not an expert.
Final thoughts kinda
I ponder uh I’m just going to stick to mosquito actually coils. no kidding They're probably no way not well amazing for anyone, but at least Winston can’t eat them. And yeah, maybe kinda I'll try one of those bug zapper things. No more citronella experiments for me! This has been a wild ride trying to figure out dude are so citronella plants safe for dogs I mean toepassingen for my honestly life and I'm kind of over it.
